Masingbi Police Station Transforms into Divisional Headquarters, Authorities in Kunike Sanda Chiefdom Handed Over Buildings to the Sierra Leone Police

In their efforts to support the Inspector General of Police, William Fayia Sellu, to transform the Masingbi Police Station into a Divisional Headquarters, the authorities in Kunike Sanda Chiefdom in the Northern District of Tonkolili led by the Chiefdom Speaker Abass Bundu has on behalf of the Paramount Chief handed over buildings to the leadership of the Sierra Leone Police in the Northeast region. 


The handing-over ceremony, which was held at the gateway of the Masingbi township, took place on Sunday, 13th April 2025. About nine (9) buildings were handed over to a joint team of North East Region and Magburaka Personnel headed by the Regional Support Officer Supt. Mr. Moray Kamara.

According to the Northeast region Police spokesman, Sgt. John Abass Kamara, the buildings will be used as dwelling rooms for Police officers, cells, and administrative purposes. 


Receiving the structures on behalf of the Regional Commander, Assistant Inspector General of Police, Victor Manfred Williams, for the attention of the IGP, the Regional Support Officer, Supt Moray Kamara, wholeheartedly extends his profound gratitude to the chiefdom speaker and the Paramount Chief for the donations, which he described as a stepping stone towards maintaining the working relationship between the Sierra Leone Police and the community of Masingbi.


Kamara, in his brief statement on behalf of the Local Unit Commander of Magburaka Division, Supt. Ibrahim Sorie Turay and the Regional Operations Officer Supt. Lansana Conteh promised stakeholders of Masingbi and its surroundings that the buildings are going to be wisely used by the Sierra Leone Police for the smooth running of all police functions. 

He called on all and sundry for their total support in the maintenance of law and order.


On behalf of the community, the Chiefdom speaker informed all present that the donations were part of their commitment to supporting the dreams of the IGP and the entire membership of the Sierra Leone Police to transform the Masingbi Police Station into a Divisional Headquarters.

He assured the police and all those present of the community's total commitment to the fight against lawlessness, the intake of harmful drugs such as Cannabis Sativa (Jamba), Tramadol, and Kush within their chiefdom and that anyone suspected of doing such illegal activities would be prosecuted.

If all goes well, the Masingbi Divisional Headquarters will be eighth in the Northeast region.
