Authorities in Kabala are investigating a disturbing incident involving the death of a 24-year-old man, allegedly
stabbed by his fiancée during a heated confrontation over persistent demands for sex.
The suspect, 20-year-old Hawa Tamba of Koromakaia village in Diang Chiefdom, is currently being held at the
Kabala Police Division. She was arrested Monday night, July 21, after reportedly stabbing her fiancé, Lawson, in
the leg with a kitchen knife — a wound that proved fatal due to severe blood loss.
According to police preliminary reports and Hawa’s statement, the confrontation took place around 8:25 p.m.,
shortly after she returned from a long day of illegal gold mining activities. Fatigued and unwilling to engage in
sexual activity, she claimed Lawson became aggressive and attempted to force himself on her.
She told investigators that a struggle ensued during which Lawson allegedly began to strangle her. In a panic, she
reached for a knife on a nearby table and stabbed him in the right leg in what she described as self-defense.
Neighbors responded to her cries for help, but Lawson succumbed to his injuries before medical assistance could
arrive.
The arrest was carried out by Detective Police Constable John Tamba Bundor of the Kondebaia Police Station.
Hawa was later transferred to the Kabala Divisional Headquarters, where the Criminal Investigation Department
(CID) opened a full investigation.
The body of the deceased is currently at the Kabala Government Hospital, awaiting autopsy to determine the exact
cause of death.
Detective Inspector Sao Suma, the division’s Crime Officer, has assured the public that investigations are ongoing
and that due process will be followed.
Beline Media Empire will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as more information
