Mystery death of teenager turns into murder investigation in Mara Chiefdom

By: Benedict AbuBakarr Conteh  What began as a suspected drowning in Rothonkoh Village has now taken a grim twist as police launch a full-scale murder investigation into the death of 15-year-old Ibrahim Tholley. The discovery was first reported on Tuesday, July 22, by Paramount Chief Bai Bairoh N’Sheni III, who informed police in Makeni that an unidentified body had been found beneath a bridge on Kontobi Road in Mara Chiefdom. Makeni police, under the leadership of CSP Abu Bakaar Magona, immediately dispatched a team led by D/Sgt. Abu Bakarr Kargbo. Crime scene photos were taken, and the body was temporarily buried in Masethleh Village, with the grave marked for potential exhumation. Two days later, on Thursday, July 24, Alpha Kamara of Magbansor Village came forward, identifying the deceased as his younger brother, Ibrahim Tholley, and shockingly alleged that their father, Abdulai Kamara of Roballah Village, was involved in his death. The image is not the Lungi Bridge in Sierra Leone, but a view of Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in Louisiana, USA.
