Recent Facebook post about Abu Abu Koroma’s suspension, misleading

The Sierra Leone Association of Hotels is an umbrella body under which all hotels in the country fall, governing their operations and activities. The association has existed for a long time. In the past, it primarily focused on hotels. However, as the hospitality sector grew, more players such as beach bars, guest houses, casinos, and chef associations began to emerge. Liberia Delegation Concludes Tour of FTL Freetown Office

Two police officers face charges over detainee’s death, search for suspects continues

By: Benedict AbuBakarr Conteh - Kabala, Sierra Leone – May 23, 2025 — As two police officers remain at large following the alleged custodial death of a 40-year-old man in Dalakuru, Diang Chiefdom, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against two other officers linked to the case. The deceased, identified as Santigie Kamara, reportedly died after allegedly being beaten while in police custody on Friday, April 25, 2025. Kamara was detained at the Dalakuru police post, and preliminary reports indicate that Police Constables Sorie Amara Sesay (PC-22121) and Alhaji Sallieu Janneh were involved in the alleged incident. The two officers fled the scene and have not been seen since. Two suspects charged for unlawful possession of Cannabis Sativa

The suspects, Katala Bangura and Osman Kamara , both residents of Makuray Village in the Yoni Mamaila Chiefdom, were arrested by the Operations Team of the Mile 91 Police Division , acting on a credible intelligence tip-off provided by concerned community members. According to reports, the operation—led by Divisional Operations Officer DSP Saio Conteh —uncovered seven (7) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa , locally referred to as “Jamba” , found in the possession of the suspects without lawful authority.
